There are a great many fairy tales that mention puppets. Some of them are very famous (e.g. "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King", "
The Adventures of Pinocchio", "
Pinocchio", "The Three Fat Men"). Others are much less known, and some are almost forgotten.
These are the stories I want to tell you about:
- The Voracious Shoe, Alexei Konstantinovich Tolstoy. An unusual but funny story, the heroes of which are old toys (among which there is a horse without a head), a shoe, and... a terrible picture, which became the enemy of all toys. But, as in most fairy tales, all ends well.
- The Flowers of Little Ida, Hans Christian Andersen. A little-known fairy tale Andersen about a little girl named Ida who got caught up in a ball of flowers and...the toys that befriended them.
- The Sandman, Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann. Another little-known tale of how a young boy, Nathanael, fell in love with a girl, Olympia, but went mad when he found out she was just a mechanical doll.
- The Adventures of a Little Actor, Esphyr Emden. After the death of her parents, schoolgirl Sasha is left with a strict aunt who takes her to another town. But a puppet - Petrushka helps Sasha to join an unusual business and find new friends.
- The Adventures of Petrovich and Patapum, Roman Kanushkin and Alexander Sklyar. Finally, the story of a boy's friendship... no, not with a doll, but with an unusual plush animal that looks like a bear with a torn off ear. Together they had many adventures and more than once came to each other's rescue.
.
Those are the stories. Do you know any of them?
