My favourite movie that I can watch over and over again without getting tired of it is The Wizard Of Oz. I have loved it ever since I was a little girl and I couldn’t even begin to guess how many times I have watched it over the years.
When I was younger we did not have a video player to begin with and so I could only watch it when it was on TV. It was only really on around Christmas time and this was one of the main things that I looked forward to about Christmas. When we did get a video player I had a copy that we had taped off the TV and it wasn’t long before I knew pretty much every scene word for word.

When my nephew was little he used to love the songs. He has never had the attention span to sit down a watch a movie and this was no exception but he did love listening to the soundtrack. He does not want to be reminded of it now but we used to spend a lot of time singing along together.
My daughter does enjoy the film but it is not her favourite in the same way as it is mine. I try to make sure that we watch it together at least once a year and I hope that it will always remind her of me as she grows older.
I consider myself very lucky that I grew up with a family that I knew loved me. One of the main aspects of the film is Dorothy learning her lesson about how much her family and friends mean to her and that she is not alone. I have loved this film through every different stage of my life from being a young child to being a parent myself and it never fails to remind me of how lucky I am.
