This summer was the first time Alice had to go on an airplane trip. And, as before any unfamiliar endeavor, she was a little nervous. But Alice wouldn't be herself if she had the usual reason to be nervous.
- It's a few hours away! - She said angrily, "What am I going to do in the meantime?
- Everyone finds something to do, even children much younger than you," Mom replied, "you can read, draw something... Or maybe you can fall asleep and sleep for the rest of the flight. That would be the best solution.
Luckily, there were no noisy and ill-mannered children on the plane where Alice, Arina and Grandma were flying, which disturbed the other passengers. Arina immediately started reading her book, Grandma dozed off, and Alice looked out of the window.
- I wonder," she suddenly thought, "if there are colored clouds? Blue, for example, or pink, or yellowish like vanilla. And each one would have its own smell - vanilla, strawberry or something else. It would be great if there were! What if there were? It would be interesting to see who paints them.....
And suddenly Alice saw a strange gap in the clouds, and the airplane flew right there! But the most amazing thing was that the next minute Alice suddenly found herself... right on top of the cloud!
And then she saw a big table where a real unicorn was sitting! He was breaking off small pieces of clouds, molding them into figures, spraying them with something, and they became colored!
- Excuse me," Alice inquired cautiously, "What are you doing?
But the unicorn, on the contrary, rejoiced at her visit.
- How do you do, dear young lady? My name is Sam Horst," he bowed, "to whom do I have the honor to speak?
- My name is Alice. - And what are you doing with the clouds?
- It's nothing special. Just entertaining the passengers. I can tell you're a first-timer, or we'd have met you by now. Try my cloud cakes, they're delicious, they melt in your mouth. But be careful, they choose their own host.
And Alice began to watch. A few red and pink hearts floated by, a blue flower too. But a few yellow and orange stars seemed to jump into her hands. And Alice liked them very much.
- Thank you very much, Mr. Horst! - she thanked him - these stars are delicious!
Suddenly it came from somewhere:
- Alice! Alice!
And Alice...opened her eyes.
- Get up, the flight is almost over, the landing has already been announced - said her sister. And Alice followed Arina to the exit. Now she knew what clouds could smell like!
The end
