- Mommy, Mommy, give me the envelope," shouts the ringing Masha, jumping on the sofa.
- My joy, you know where they are, - Mommy smilingly answers Mashenka.
- Take as many as you need. There's your elephant and pencils, felt-tip pens and colors. Everything's in place, you can get started!
- Mommy, darling, I want to come with you so badly that you can take me to the nursery. I can't do it without you," the young lady chirped. Do you want me to dance for you "Masha and Jerry", your favorite, just say yes, please. And continues to twirl in a round dance in a dress of daisies and cornflowers.
The Christmas tree lights up with colorful watercolors, drawing a juicy ornament on the glossy tiles. New Year's music fills the space of the country house with soft keys. The crackle of a candle merges with the play of snow outside the door and windows, creating the effect of a movie theater. Grandma is sleeping sweetly in a hammock by the fireplace. Grandpa and Mikhail, Masha's dad, are having an active conversation at the table. Klavdia, Masha's mom, is immersed in the New Year's bustle, all in housework, dressed up and smelling deliciously, as always, of cookies and cinnamon, a delicate smell.
Masha is in search of an envelope. It is today that she dreams of writing her brilliant letter to Santa Claus. And me, who am I, how do I know these people? That's a good question! I am the permanent housekeeper of this cozy house. That's the way it is now, that's the way it will be after, that's the way it was a hundred years ago! Only today it's not about me, it's some other winter day, over a cup of fragrant tea with strawberry jam. We will have many more occasions to get together and talk about everything.
And today, let me tell you the lines of a wonderful letter. A letter from our Masha, Mashenka Krasovskaya, to Santa Claus:
"Here I am finally writing: Santa Claus, good evening! How are you? How are your reindeer? How is your health? How are you feeling? Are you well? It's Masha! Do you remember me?
Krasovskaya Masha, six years old, a first-grader, I study well, I try, as I promised you last year. I listen to my parents, my behavior is excellent. I don't fight at school, I don't bite, I don't call you names.
Santa Claus, the New Year is coming, in three days he will knock on my door. I hope you'll visit me too, won't you? I will be waiting for you very much, very, very much!
And now, the innermost part. I'm a little shy, but I'm writing anyway. I want to ask you.
Grandpa, - sweet, handsome, handsome, handsome.
You're always welcome to me
I'm writing you a humble letter today
And I make my wish known.
No need for toys, no need for candy,
You don't need clothes, you don't need coins,
You don't need friends, you don't need a vacation either,
Please give me a brother Vanya
Or sister Vikusha.
It makes me want to kiss them and feel sorry for them,
Play hide-and-seek, dance, sing together.
I want to look at the moon together,
Read fairy tales about Baba Yaga!
In the bathtub to bathe,
Diving in the pool,
Splashing in the sea,
Lying in the sun!
Please, Grandpa, don't miss it,
I beg you very much,-read it all, read it all.....
I'll be obedient, I'll be good
Good Mashunya, -
For Vanya's brother,
Vicusha's sisters - all the same!
Grandpa, I'm done writing.
Drawing a heart,
There's a lot of warmth in it,
I was saving it for you!
Drawing a flower, -
Cornflower, my favorite,
To have enough gifts and strength, -
To visit everyone, to congratulate everyone,
Hear, and on New Year's Day, don't offend anyone!
Masha Krasovsky, signature, number,
Grandpa, honey, fulfill the letter, -
Next year, or,
At Christmas."
Masha succeeded. She reached the great heart of Santa Claus. Now in our house there are more children's smiles, ringing laughter and gentle crying. Masha, Vanya and Vikusha make every day bright, unique and sunny. Masha has cosmic plans for this new year. Already in full preparation to write New Year letters to Santa Claus for three. She says that she knows three new wishes perfectly well. I'm afraid to imagine what they are! Anyway, it's gonna be loud. I love this family and am blessed to live every minute of my life with them.
Happy New Year! Health and great luck to everyone! Be happy and may there be more reasons for joy!
The permanent houseboy of the Krasowski house, your cordial servant - Jerry.
