When Masha was ten years old, she learned that in one American town they made the biggest... snow baba! Moreover, it was made not only of snow, and from improvised materials. And Masha decided to repeat this feat. Only the thing was that in the city where Masha lived ... was not snow. But that didn't stop her.
- Look - she showed the picture to her younger sister, Yana.
- What is it?
- See how big the snowman is? - She asked - Let's make one too!
- Out of what? - Jana looked at her sister skeptically. Although she was only five years old, she already knew how to look at things realistically.
- We don't have snow! - Yana added.
- That's good! - Masha replied, and without waiting for her sister to question whether she was sane, she explained - Because we can build it right here!
- Out of what?
Masha thought about it, but not for long.
- Yes, at least from our toys, some other things, or from food - and, catching Janina's angry look, added - Those that won't spoil.
- All right, - still incredulous Yana replied - Let's try.
The shoes for the snowman were found quickly - they were yogurt boxes, which the sisters ate with gusto. On the head it was decided to put a bucket, with which Jana sometimes played in the sandbox in the summer. But what was there to make it out of? But the perky Masha was not confused.
- I've thought of it! - She shouted, and in a minute she was back... with three big balls of thread. Jana was not a frightened girl, but even she was confused.
- And...and...won't grandma scold us? - she finally asked - it's her threads.
- Don't worry, she'll like what we make too. - Masha replied, and the sisters got to work.
When the girls' parents came home, a cat came screaming under their feet.
- Mitrosha, - the mother asked affectionately - Mitrosha, little boy, what happened?
But when she went into the room, she realized what was wrong. It turned out that the cat, who had been sleeping soundly all this time, woke up and went to wander around the house. And suddenly in the dark room he saw a strange creature with eyes and a mouth made of buttons, a nose made of a pencil and... in a glowing scarf.
When the snowman was already ready, Masha thought that he was somehow boring. So she decided to give him a scarf, which she and Jana made from an old garland.

In the end, Masha was right: no one really scolded them. On the contrary, everyone treated their creation with humor, and praised it. And only Mitrofan the cat walked cautiously past the room in the middle of which the alien stood until spring.
