Anyone who met little Suok in the street would not have noticed anything unusual about her. Of course, she wasn't faster, stronger, or smarter than the other children. She was just an ordinary girl, with gray eyes, dark hair gathered in an unruly ponytail, and a blue overalls. At first glance, it was the most ordinary girl. But only at first glance.
The thing is, Suok's parents were circus performers. Yes, yes, real circus performers. They even went on tour in the summer and took their little girl with them. Many children born in sawdust do not like this life, but Suok was a rare exception. The little girl just raved about the circus and could not imagine her life without performances. In the second place after the circus Suok had fairy tales that her parents and grandmother told her. Of course, they did not just read to her, but played a real play. Suok loved it very much when her grandmother arranged a shadow theater for her. Grandmother and granddaughter were the best of friends, and it is not surprising that when her grandmother died, Suok experienced a real grief. And she remembered her grandmother's last words forever.
- My little granddaughter, my little girl, Suok," she said, "I wish I could see you grow up. And I want to ask you one thing: always remain as straightforward, honest and courageous and never forget that even in the most difficult situation you will have your parents and friends by your side. Even if you think that everything is bad, there will be at least one person who will take your side. Remember that. Always.
It soon became clear that her grandmother's admonition had come in handy. Ten-year-old Suok had to change schools and move to the town where her grandmother had once lived. Many people have probably guessed that her grandmother was the same Suok who overthrew the Three Fatties. And even though it happened a long time ago, they still had followers. And all the schools in this town were named after them . The first school named after the Three Fatties, the second, and so on. So Suok knew right away that she had to keep her eyes open.
On the first day, everything was as it usually is when there is a new student in the class. After being introduced, Suok sat down next to the Medi girl.
- Are you the granddaughter of the Suok who overthrew the fat men? - she asked quietly.
- Yes." replied Suoq.
- You and your parents shouldn't have come here," Medi said suddenly.
- Why? - Suok asked, but Medi didn't have time to answer because the lesson had started. When the lesson was over, her roommate asked Suok.
- You're not busy? Don't you have a rehearsal or something?
- No, I don't.
- Then let's go. - Medi said, putting on her backpack, "Now you'll see for yourself why you and your parents have to get out of here.
They walked out of the school, rounded the corner, walked some more and ended up at an old building with a sign.
- What's in here? - Suok asked. The letters on the sign were so badly erased that she couldn't even make out what was there.
- You'll see now," Medi replied, and shouted loudly:
- Suok is here! I brought her!
And as soon as she shouted, boys and girls started running from the courtyard. There were six or seven of them, some the same age as the girls, some a little younger or older.
- Here. That's Suok, the one," said Medi. - She wants to know why she has to get out of here as soon as possible.
A boy who was taller and older than everyone else came out of the crowd and asked:
- What do you think was in that building?
- I don't know - replied Suok - maybe a store, maybe something else.
- The store - the boy repeated - it had better really be here.
- Why?
- Because there was a theater studio here, and everyone you see here was involved in it.
- Why aren't they doing it now? - Suok asked.
The boy sighed.
- The authorities have banned it. They believe that theater and all creative activities are a waste of time, and in general, the future lies with robots. So if they find out who you are, you'll end up in an orphanage and your parents in prison.
- And that's still at best," said the other boy grimly.
Suok thought for a moment. She was shocked by what she had learned, but somehow she was sure that there was something she could do to help her new acquaintances. And she should be the one to do it.
- Medi," she asked her desk mate, "is there anyone in the class whose parents agree with the authorities? And what do the adults think about it?
- My family disagrees," Medi replied, "but what can we do?
- And mine doesn't agree!
- And mine!
- And mine!
So it turned out that none of the family members of Medi's friends from the theater studio supported the authorities. Moreover, they all said the same about the families of their classmates.
- Great - said Suok - now listen to what my plan is: we have to summon all those who support us and not the authorities and show them a performance.
- But what was the performance? - one of the girls, Fabia, asked.
- And where are we going to rehearse? - added the older boy, Tebei.
- You find the audience first," Suok replied, "and the artists, because some of the characters may not have enough actors.
After receiving their assignment, everyone said their goodbyes and went home.
Now it must be said what Suoq was planning to do. At first she didn't understand what story they were going to tell, but when she heard about the robots, she understood. They would have to tell the story of her grandmother. A grandmother who, a little older than her granddaughter, had overthrown the Three Stooges!
In the meantime, her new acquaintances had a difficult task: to find the audience and actors and not let the authorities' supporters find out about it. Fortunately, everyone they turned to for help understood.
Not only that, but they had an unexpected ally. And it turned out to be...the grandson of a teacher at their school, whose name was also Tutti! When Suok met his grandmother, she liked her very much.
- Too bad about your grandmother," she said, "I wanted to meet her. When the three fat men were overthrown, I was seven years old. I was in love with her brother, Tutti. I cried all day when he and your grandmother left. That's why my grandson is called that.
- Yes - Suok smiled - he's a good one.
Tutti liked her, too, and he volunteered to help with their idea. At first Suok thought they would rehearse at her house, but Tutti's grandmother insisted that they rehearse at her house.
- I want to be of some use to your family," she explained to Suok.
And the rehearsals began. Fortunately, everyone justified Suok's confidence and none of the authorities' supporters found out about the rehearsals.
But what happened on the day of the premiere!..... Suok could not have imagined that so many people would come to remember her grandmother's story. And when the story ended, many of the audience had tears in their eyes.
After that, the townspeople staged a riot, in which everyone participated - from first-graders to adults and serious people. And soon there were drawing and music lessons in schools again, creative circles started working again, and most importantly, the theater studio returned. And Suok, together with her parents, went to another city. The girl with a warm heart was able to repeat the feat of her grandmother.
The end
